Multi-Annual Changes in Heat Stress Occurrence and Its Circulation Conditions in the Polish–Saxon Border Region

Heat stress is one of the most critical factors affecting human life. In Central Europe, its influence noticeable, especially in Polish–Saxon region, which a very popular tourist region also inhabited by high number elders. The main goal this paper was to assess multi-annual changes heat occurring considering frequency days, UTCI (Universal Thermal Climate Index), and circulation conditions. research showed that all thermal biothermal indices significantly increased during 1971–2019 lowlands, mountain foreland, lower zone. terms UTCI, negative trend for cold noticed entire favor an increase tendency toward thermoneutral conditions stress. This concerns strong (UTCI > 32 °C), positive trends were observed stations located hypsometric zones. results mainly occurs on days with anticyclonic circulation. Analysis selected cases waves 21st century indicated zones are characterized while summit zone free from occurrence.
